FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much water does a vacuum toilet actually save?

A GenX vacuum toilet uses 0.5–1.2L per flush versus 6–10L for a conventional cistern toilet — saving 80–92% per flush. For a public toilet serving 200 users per day, this saves 1,000–1,800 litres of water daily.

Is 0.5L enough water to fully flush the toilet?

Yes. Vacuum flush technology uses the power of vacuum pressure — not water volume — to remove waste. The 0.5L of water cleans the bowl while the vacuum draws waste into the holding tank. Bowl cleanliness is equal to or better than conventional toilets.

Is a low-water vacuum toilet suitable for LEED or green building certification?

Yes. Ultra-low flush toilets contribute to water efficiency credits in LEED, IGBC and other green building rating systems. We provide product data sheets with flush volume certification for rating submissions.

Does the water saving also reduce tank fill rate?

Yes. Because each flush uses 85% less water, the holding tank fills much more slowly. This means less frequent pump-outs, lower servicing cost and longer operational cycles between maintenance visits.
